TRAINED BY "MADMEN"
A veteran ad guy with Clio and Effie on my shelf, I learned my trade on Madison Avenue (the street, not the metaphor) from real (as opposed to fictional) Madmen. I went freelance in 2001 and I've never looked back.
Since 2008, I've been focused largely on professional services—especially law firms, but also accounting, real estate, insurance, and all sorts of financial services .
I'm privileged to be closely affiliated with two brilliant branding firms—Right Hat and White Space Marketing Group—with whom I've created much of the work on this site.
Before turning freelance, I spent 17 years in the Young & Rubicam organization, including a lengthy stint as Creative Director at The Lord Group (named for Dick Lord—a god of sorts, but not the one you're thinking).
In that time, I was responsible for all B2B advertising on Verizon (as well as its predecessors Bell Atlantic, NYNEX, and New York Telephone). I got my Clio for the Siemens “We Can Do That” campaign, which ran on several continents. I also wrote what may have been the last TWA commercials ever.
My clients will tell you that I think strategically, that I have strong opinions (sometimes welcome), and that I consider style inseparable from substance.
There is poetry in every product—municipal bond funds, patent litigation, cybersecurity software, even Dodd-Frank compliance. I'll help you find it.
